General Questions

Q: What are your shipping hours?

Our shipping department operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time, excluding statutory holidays.

Freight pickups and deliveries are accepted at our shipping area located at the back of the building, Loading Dock 1 and Loading Dock 2. No appointment is required.

We are shut down the two weeks before the Civic Holiday in August.

We are shut down between Christmas and New Years.

Q: Will you stock product?

We use a combination of stock and make-to-order. Common woven reinforcement fabrics and high-volume items are stocked for faster turnaround, while specialized constructions, widths, or finishes are produced to order with quoted lead times.

All Ancaref nonwoven products are manufactured make-to-order based on your specifications and confirmed purchase orders.

Q: What are the available roll length?

We manufacture rolls to customer-specified lengths.

Standard roll lengths are 45.7 m (50 yd) for 6 oz and 9 oz direct size tapes, 70 m for 24 oz woven roving, and 100 m (about 109 yd) for 18 oz woven roving.

Quotations can be provided in either Canadian or U.S. dollars.

Q: What sets your roll build apart?

Our roll builds are engineered for consistent diameter, straight edges, low ovality, and tight, even winding, improving handling and reducing waste at your plant.

Our hard, non-telescoping rolls run cleanly and optimize your cutting and processing operations.

Q: Why do you use Direct Size Yarn?

We use direct size yarn because its sizing is formulated to bond directly to composite resins, giving better wet-out, higher bond strength, and improved mechanical performance in the finished laminate. Direct size yarn also runs cleaner during weaving and composite processing, with less fuzz and debris, which helps keep equipment running smoothly.

Direct size yarn does not go through a heat-cleaning process, which can damage the glass and reduce its strength and durability; heat-cleaned products are typically chosen only for lower-demand, price-driven applications.

Q: Is your product compatible with the sizing I use?

Our products use direct-size yarns with resin-compatible sizing, so they work with most common epoxy, polyester, vinyl ester, and similar resin systems.

We can also work with customers to investigate alternative yarns or constructions that may better suit their specific resin and process requirements.

Q: What patterns do you weave?

Most common is plain weave. Send us a challenge – we can usually supply material to meet your specific pattern requirements, including solutions we’ve developed such as Mock Leno heavy weaves and variable-pick woven roving. If it can be woven we can do it.

Q: Can we tweak standard tapes to optimize our operations?

Yes. We are happy to work with customers to tweak standard tapes and fabrics or develop variants—such as changes to width, roll length, or construction—to better fit your operation. Our goal is to create a product that optimizes the performance of your process.

Q: Do you toll Weave?

Yes. If you have an input you would like woven, please reach out and we can discuss toll weaving options.

Q: ISO Certification?

No, we are not currently ISO-certified. However, we are very familiar with ISO quality requirements.
