What is Woven Zylon?

Woven Zylon® is a high-strength reinforcement material produced from advanced organic fibers known for their exceptional mechanical properties. Similar to aramid fibers but offering approximately 50% greater performance in key strength characteristics, Zylon® is often selected for applications where maximum strength, durability, and lightweight construction are critical.

Zylon® is recognized as one of the strongest commercially available organic fibers. Made from poly (p-phenylene-2,6-benzobisoxazole) (PBO), it delivers significantly higher tensile strength and stiffness than p-aramid fibers while offering outstanding flame resistance, thermal stability, and thermal conductivity.

Its unique combination of high modulus and vibration damping makes it ideal for performance-driven applications, while its impact energy absorption is more than twice that of comparable p-aramid composites, providing exceptional damage tolerance.
